We soon followed with a couple of appetizers including the Salt Spring Mussels and Clams (you can get a combination of both) for $17. The fresh shellfish went nicely with the white wine and garlic broth (which was not too salty) and provided the best dipping for the rest of our focaccia bread.

We also ordered the Atlantic Scallops ($15) with cauliflower puree, bacon jam and came in a crispy wonton shell. It was not what I was expecting but it packed a lot of flavour! This was the perfect little bite.

We had a fantastic dinner here on Saturday night! The restaurant is an old home turned into a dining space with classic, old school décor. I was glad to have made reservations ahead of time since we were seated at the best table in the house, very romantic!

This will be the best most attentive and genuine service you'll ever receive. The food is absolutley above average. Dont be scared off by the formal look of the place they welcome everyone as they are without any pretense or pomp. Just go. (BTW the Thai mussels are out of this world.)

For our mains we went for the West Coast Seafood Linguine ($24) with prawns, shrimp and scallops. The tomato cream sauce was absolutely delicious. My only criticism was that I found the linguine was a bit overdone to my liking (I usually like it al dente).

Food was fantastic and was far above the expectations we had. Very busy for the early seating and virtual dead for second seating. Will visit this place for sure next time I am in town.

We started off with a bottle of red wine and fresh baked focaccia bread with balsamic vinegar and olive oil.

We also had the Duck ($29) with black currant demi-glace, mashed potatoes and vegetables. The black currant sauce was very delicious and paired well with the duck. The roasted beet that came with the vegetables was also a great pairing! My only criticism was that the duck was not as tender as I would have liked.

The description on the site caught my eye. Called to reserve for dinner but the message said they were busy but would call back asap. Never did. We drove there, looked run down and empty. Inside a lone women looked up from her desk. Is the restaurant open, we ask. No, she replied without getting off her seat, there was an incident. When I suggested she change the phone message she appeared disinterested. Avoid this sad place.

Service was fantastic – very attentive, friendly and casual. A special shout out to our server who helped us snap a few photos in the main foyer.

For dessert, we had the blackberry cheesecake and it was absolute divine. Not too sweet, packed full of cream cheese flavour and the graham cracker bottom was perfect.
